A man suffered critical burn injuries when he fell on the electrified third rail
at the Logan Square station this afternoon.
The man fell on the tracks at the station, 2620 N. Milwaukee Ave., a little
before 4:30 p.m. and suffered burns when he fell on the third rail. He was taken to Advocate Illinois
Masonic Medical Center in critical condition

I guess its cheaper to pay off certain lawsuits than to invest in voltage regulators, with censory technology. That will detect and disengage electrical current from the third rail in front of the platforms when the train is not there.
