A Ravenswood man was ordered held in lieu of $150,000 bail Sunday after he
allegedly stole a boy's cell phone Saturday.
Manuel Nava, 32, of the 4700 block of North Paulina Street, faces robbery
charges in connection with Saturday's incident.
Police were called to the 4700 block of North Kedzie Avenue in the Albany
Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side late Saturday afternoon in response to
reports that an 11-year-old boy had had his cell phone taken from him.
When police arrived, the boy pointed out Nava, who was walking away on West
Lawrence Avenue.
The boy identified his stolen cell phone and Nava was arrested.
Nava is a convicted felon with a robbery history.
"I know him," Nava said to police. "He owes me
$20 so I took the phone!"
