Officials are investigating the death of a 3-month-old boy who was beaten to
death in an apparent homicide.
Tayshaun Dyson was pronounced dead at 8:16 a.m. Sunday at Advocate Christ
Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
An autopsy conducted today determined that the infant died of a closed head
injury from child abuse and ruled his death a homicide.
Chicago police have launched a homicide investigation.
Police were notified about the incident at 3:41 p.m. on Aug. 22.
Police said the boy lived on the 1100 block of West 88th Street.
The medical examiner's office said the boy lived on the 8900 block
of South Throop Avenue.
The two addresses are within blocks of each other.
The boy's father is being investigated for abuse.
DCFS has had no prior contact with the family, which has no other children
