A 33-year-old man died early this morning following a collision on Monday with a vehicle in the Northwest Side's Portage Park neighborhood.
Rafael Ramirez, of the 7200 block of West Diversey Avenue in Elmwood Park, was declared dead at 2 a.m. at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
Ramirez collided with a vehicle about 2:15 p.m. as he made a left turn from North Central Avenue onto West Addison Street.
He was taken to Resurrection Medical Center and later transferred to Illinois Masonic.
Witnesses told police the driver had the right of way, and the driver was not cited

These incidents will increase as cyclists get bolder with their scofflaw ways.
We need license plates for bikes! Revenue for city, a way for pedestrians to report who hit them and for cyclists to really "feel equal" to cars, instead of acting like they are ine step above pedestrians and cars!
