Man, woman found dead in downtown hotel

A man and woman were found dead in a downtown hotel this afternoon, apparently the result of a double suicide.
About 4:20 p.m. a 56-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman were found dead together in bed at 301 E. North Water St., both suffering head wounds in an apparent suicide.
Two handguns were found next to the bed, and the wounds appear to be self-inflicted.
While police are classifying the incident as a death investigation and will await autopsy results all indications were consistent with a double suicide.
The Sheraton Chicago Hotel is located at 301 E. North Water St.
