Man dies after falling on third rail

A man was pronounced dead after he fell from the Howard Street CTA train platform this evening and landed on the third rail.
The incident happened at about 7:30 p.m
The man made contact with the third rail and was taken to St. Francis Hospital in critical condition where he later died.
According to the Cook County medical examiner's office the man was in his 20s and was pronounced dead at 8:08 p.m. Officials believe the man accidentally fell onto the tracks.
The man's name was being withheld pending notification of his family.
