Two men were seriously burned when a gas tank ignited while they were working on a car this afternoon on the Far South Side.
The accident happened about 2:15 p.m. on the 10800 block of South Drew Street.
One man, 46, suffered third-degree burns to his upper chest and face. He was burned on 60 percent of his body and his airway was damaged. He was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
The other man, 56, suffered third-degree burns on 40 percent of his body. He was burned on his chest, face and arms and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized
