A 27-year-old woman was pronounced dead today, eight days after being shot along with several others after a family prom party in the Lawndale neighborhood.
Quintana Love of the 1300 block of South Tripp Avenue was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital at 12:10 p.m.
Love had been in “grave” condition at the hospital since the shooting, which happened on May 17 at 11:25 p.m. on the 1200 block of South Kolin Avenue.
Police said at the time that Love had been shot in the neck, apparently with either an AK-47-style gun or one of two Tec-9 machine pistols police found discarded half a block away.
In addition to Love, two others sustained life-threatening wounds. A 38-year-old woman lost a piece of her arm
Another man, 38, was shot in the back. He and the woman were both initially in critical condition.
