Teen 15 shot dead in Gresham

A teen was shot dead this afternoon in the Gresham neighborhood on the South Side, one of at least three people shot since midday today.
He was shot several times around 12:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of West 85th Street, police said. Preliminary reports indicated two people were taken into custody.
The victim was pronounced dead at 1:15 p.m. at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

The boy, identified as Patrick Sykes

i know it starts at home with kids but it ends on the street why cant the police see a patern of 3 people shot dead in less than 3 weeks. evidently its a war going on in that area

I stay on 72 in king drive and its a war between the gds and bds and I mean they only stay a block apart they just got threw shooting outside and I dnt think no 1 was injured but its a lot of shootings the media dnt report I guess to make it look like crime is down but really its out of controll

why do they have so many police officers foot patrolling the 63 king drive area and not the 72 king drive area when the gds and bds are UN war with each other, its insane cause the older gang members have the younger gang members Holden the guns and these kids is as young as 12 smh these kids smoke weed, standout on the corner gang banging, we are living in a messed up generation

An why do you think my generation fucked up ima tell you the things we where exposed to growing up such as the things you see on tv playing on the radio we where born in the 90's n that decade is enough said so don't blame us if we grew up exposed to guns weed liquor etc... that was the shit that was exposed to us since we came out the whom an the two generations before us set it up for us don't blame us I blame yall for creating the shit. But don't get me wrong it's a lot of shit I hate about my generation to it's people my age I just look at with discus cause I know we can be better then just killing each other just cause you stay on that block the shit stupid but it's sorry to say but some of them are lost causes don't care if they get to see the next day or not. some kids are exposed to what's goin on around there environment at a young age but grow up to want to do better, so I wouldn't use that as an excuse, its ultimately up to do the individual and what type of path they choose to follow
