Part of the CTA's Orange Line on the Southwest Side was shut down this afternoon after a man was run over and killed by a train.
The CTA received reports of a person who made contact with a northbound train north of the Orange Line's Halsted stop about 4:30 p.m.. The person was dead on the scene, near Archer Avenue and 23rd Place.
The man, in his 40s, was believed to have been walking on the tracks when he was struck by the train
