53-year-old man was shot in the face in Austin

At 2:10 a.m., a 53-year-old man was shot in the face in the 300 block of South Cicero Avenue in the South Austin neighborhood on the West Side. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.
Police on the scene said the man, who was apparently the unintended target, was on a sidewalk walking away from a liquor store he had just left when shots rang out across the street and hit him.
