Police are warning the public following two separate assaults that happened
this morning in the same area on Northwest Side near the city’s border with
Elmwood Park.
The attacks, one of which was a sexual assault, both occurred between 9:45
a.m. and 10:30 a.m. near the intersection of Belmont and Oak Park avenues.
The offender ran up to a lone female walking and tried to force her to go
into an unknown vehicle with him. Then, while implying he had a knife or a gun
but not showing one, he sexually assaulted her.
In the second incident, he hit another victim in the face with his fist and
foot.
The man is described as being black, between the ages of 28 and 35, between
5-foot-10 to 6-foot, and about 170 pounds. He has short black
hair, a medium complexion, chipped or cropped teeth and silver earrings in both
ears.
He was last seen wearing all black clothing and black shoes and was seen
driving a black vehicle
