A Hazel Crest man died this morning after being dragged more than 1,000 feet down
Division Street by a hit-and-run driver in the Goose Island neighborhood.
Billy Taylor, 40, was taken in critical condition to Northwestern Memorial
Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:12 a.m..
Taylor was struck in the 900 block of Division
Street, just east of Cherry Avenue, around 4:15 a.m. and dragged 1,115 feet,
police on the scene said. He was found at the bridge.
Police described the car as a late model dark blue or black Hyundai Sonata.
It was last seen going west on Division
