One man was dead and at least one other wounded in separate shootings on the South Side late this afternoon.
A 31-year-old man was shot and wounded in the West Pullman neighborhood about 5:30 p.m..
The man was declared dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn at 6:55 p.m.
The man was shot in the 11800 block of South Harvard Avenue and found unresponsive in a car, then taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center
The man was drivign south in his black Kia Optima down Harvard Avenue when shots rang out near 118th Street. The Kia then struck at least one parked car on that block before crossing 119th Street.
The victim then apparently lost control of the Kia before it crashed through a chain-linked fenced along Harvard, just south of 119th, hit utility pole and then came to rest when it hit a single-family home, authorities said. The impact caused the pole to crack and slant next to the single-family home.
