Three people were assaulted aboard a Red Line "L" train Friday when a group
of men stormed a car shouting their gang affiliation.Griggs, of the 1300 block of North Hudson Avenue in the Old Town neighborhood, faces a charge of of felony aggravated battery in a public place. Griggs is accused of punching and kicking a 57-year-old man after an unknown person struck the man in the face with a handgun, Rusch said. The victim was treated and released from St. Bernard Hospital.
Another attacker punched a woman who pressed the train’s emergency button, and a third victim was punched four times. Rusch said the attack was captured on surveillance video.
