Teen 16 shot, critically wounded on West SideA 16-year-old boy was shot several times and critically wounded in the Austin neighborhood this afternoon.
The teen was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and was in critical condition following the shooting in the 1300 block of North Lockwood Avenue about 5 p.m..
The boy was on the street when someone came up to him on foot and shot him four times in the lower body. The attacker then ran to a waiting vehicle nearby and the vehicle drove off.
Man wounded in West Side shootingA 41-year-old man was shot inside the Harrison Courts apartments on the West Side before midnight Wednesday.
The shooting happened inside the east building in the complex located at the corner of Harrison Street and Sacramento Boulevard in the Lawndale neighborhood.
The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition and rushed into surgery
23 year old shot in Garfield ParkA man was shot near Garfield Boulevard and Kedzie Avenue and the other in the 2700 block of West Lexington Avenue.
The shooting on Kedzie happened about midnight in a Walgreens parking lot just north of Garfield Boulevard in the Gage Park neighborhood. A 23-year-old man was shot in the knee outside the store. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition.
Police said the shooting stemmed from an ongoing conflict between two gangs in the area. Two cars filled with gang members were in the parking lot before the shooting, witnesses told police.
25 year old shot in LawndaleA man was shot in the 2700 block of West Lexington Avenue in the Lawndale neighborhood, the second shooting there in two nights. A 25-year-old man was shot in both legs by someone in a green vehicle. He was then taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in serious condition.
