19 year old man shot in Calumet HeightsA male believed to be about 19 years old was shot in the neck this evening in the South Side's Calumet Heights neighborhood.
The shooting happened about 8:30 p.m. in the 9200 block of South Essex Avenue, Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien said.
Paramedics took the victim to a local hospital in serious condition.

Three males approached the man, with one of them yelling gang slogans and at least one firing shots.
The man sustained a gunshot wound to the stomach, and a bullet also grazed his head. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.
