Police removed a 56-year-old man's body from the Marquette Park Lagoon this afternoon.
Someone called 911 about 1:05 p.m. to ask police to check on a person in the area of the lagoon in the 6700 block of South Kedzie Avenue. The man, who the Cook County medical examiner's office said lived a few blocks north of where he was found, was dead on the scene.
When officers arrived, a body was found in the lagoon. The Police Marine Unit worked to remove the body.
Area Central detectives were conducting a death investigation
