An autopsy performed Tuesday determined that hypothermia and coronary
atherosclerosis caused the death of a 56-year-old man found unresponsive on a
South Side street Monday.
About 9:20 a.m. Monday in the Fernwood neighborhood, authorities found
Riccardo White unconscious in the 10000 block of South Wentworth Avenue.
White, who lived in the 1000 block of West 105th
Street, was taken to Roseland Community Hospital, where he was pronounced
dead at 10:03 a.m.,.
Following an autopsy performed Tuesday, the medical examiner's office listed
hypothermia following cold exposure as the primary cause of White's death.
Coronary atherosclerosis was found to be a secondary cause.
White's death was ruled an accident.
