Police are searching for a man who tried to sexually assault a 27-year-old woman while wielding a handgun in Lawndale Monday evening.
The woman was in her car on the 2100 block of South Millard Avenue around 6:23 p.m. when a man approached her vehicle with a gun and prevented her from closing the door.
The man then demanded the woman to perform a sex act, but she fended him off and shut her car door. Afterward, the attacker fled south bound on Millard and then east bound through an alley.
The suspect is described as a black male with medium brown complexion. The man stood between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-6 and weighed between 160 and 180 pounds, according to police. He was last seen wearing a black and red striped skull cap and a gray sweatshirt or jacket
