A man was hospitalized this evening after being shot in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side.
The man was shot shortly after 6 p.m. on the 1000 block of North Avers Avenue.
The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital for treatment
Two men got out of a tan minivan and one opened fire, hitting the man at least five times, police said, hitting Elton Johnson.
Johnson was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital for treatment, authorities said. He was pronounced dead at 10:17 p.m
