Police have issued a community alert after three students were robbed at
gunpoint near Gwendolyn Brooks High School in the Roseland neighborhood on the
Far South Side.
The students were approached by a group of robbers, one
of them armed with a handgun, before or after classes at the school at 250 E.
111th St. on Nov. 26 and 27.
The robbers
demanded money and took other property from the students before fleeing on foot.
The robbers were described as black males between the ages
of 17 to 19, between 5-foot-9 and 6-foot-9 and weighing 140 to 175 pounds,
police said. They had light complexions and short dreadlocks
