Dad charged after daughter intercepts bullet meant for boyfriend

A 25-year-old woman was shot Saturday afternoon after stepping between her gun-wielding father and the man she is dating.
During a domestic dispute about 2 p.m. in the 4900 block of West Quincy Street in the South Austin neighborhood on the West Side, the woman's father pointed a gun at the woman's 26-year-old boyfriend.
In an attempt to protect her boyfriend, the woman stepped between the two as her father shot at the boyfriend. The bullet struck his daughter in the arm.
The daughter was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was listed in good condition.
Police have charged her father, 49-year-old Dante White, with one count of unlawful use of a weapon and one count of possession of a weapon with a defaced serial number.
White is a convicted felon with a gang affiliation, police said.
