Five people were hospitalized after a shooting in the South Shore
neighborhood this evening.
The shooting happened on the 7500 block of South Exchange Avenue at about
5:45 p.m.
Of the shooting victims, four people were in serious-to-critical condition. Two of them were taken to John H.
Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County while the two others were taken to
Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
A fifth victim was taken in good-to-fair condition to South Shore Hospital.
Fire department officials had called for an Emergency Medical Services Plan 1
which summoned six ambulances to the scene
