A 20-year-old Indiana resident died Saturday evening after being shot early that morning in the South Chicago neighborhood.
The Cook County medical examiner's office identified him as Hakeem Walton, of the 1100 block of 170th Place in Hammond, Ind.
Walton had been riding in a car in the 2700 block of East 84th Street when a bullet shattered the back window and struck him in the head.
After the shooting, which happened shortly after 2 a.m Saturday, Walton was driven to Advocate Trinity Hospital.
He was later transferred to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 6:35 p.m.,
