A 53-year-old man was shot in the arm after he startled three people who had just
pistol-whipped his upstairs neighbo.
Police said two women and a man broke into a 40-year-old man's apartment near
109th Street and Torrence Avenue about 12:45 a.m. Friday and hit him with a
handgun.
The 53-year-old man, a downstairs neighbor, heard the commotion and opened
his door, surprising the attackers as they were leaving, police said.
One of them shot him in the arm.
