A 49-year-old was pronounced dead
after being shot this afternoon in the Lawndale neighborhood.
Bruce Bennett, of the 3800 block of West Van Buren St., was
pronounced dead at 1:11 p.m. at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Police responded to the 1200 block of
South Kolin Avenue at about 12:28 p.m. after the man was shot.
When police arrived they
discovered the man had been shot in the head and shoulder, and he was taken to
Mount Sinai where he was later pronounced dead
