A 17-year-old had been outside with a group of people on the 7000 block of South
Halsted Street when a shooter opened fire just after midnight.
He was struck in the head and
rushed to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he was listed in
critical condition.
An 18-year-old woman was also hit in the leg. She was taken to St.
Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center in good condition.
