A motorcyclist from west suburban Stone Park was killed when he was struck by a
vehicle on the city's Northwest Side.
The victim was riding east in the 6200 block of West Diversey Avenue in the
Belmont Central neighborhood at about 8:40 p.m. Tuesday when his motorcycle was
sideswiped by a black Infiniti SUV pulling into traffic from a parking lot.
The victim, Stanislaw Galek,
42, of the 1000 block of North 39th Avenue, was thrown to the ground by the
impact and taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where he was
pronounced dead.
The Infiniti's driver remained at the scene
