Indoor pot-grower busted on Northwest Side

A 50-year-old man was arrested yesterday after police said they found more than 100 marijuana plants growing inside his Northwest Side home.
Paul Sherman of the Irving Park neighborhood was charged with one count of felony manufacturing of marijuana, along with weapons violations, after police found the hydroponically grown pot, two firearms and more than $30,000 cash.
After getting a tip about the indoor growing operation in the 3900 block of North Elston Avenue, a Chicago Police Gang Enforcement Team obtained a warrant and served it yesterday at the man's home, taking him into custody.
The marijuana has an estimated street value of more than $500,000
