A Cook County prosecutor was attacked with a broken beer bottle after he told two
teens to stop harassing two men they thought were gay in Lincoln Park.
The prosecutor, 31, was cut near the left eye, on his side and under
his right arm.
The attack occurred around 7 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of West Diversey
Parkway as the prosecutor was on his way to meet a friend to fish along the
lakefront, Daly said. He saw the teens harassing the men and yelled at them to
stop.
“They turned on him and ran at him,”.
The teens, about 16 or 17, punched and kicked the prosecutor and
cut him with a broken beer bottle, police said. He walked to Saint Joseph
Hospital nearby, and then was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital.
The
teens were described as Hispanic, between 5-foot-8 and 6-foot, weighing 150 to
190 pounds, according to police. One of them had long black hair and was wearing
a black hooded sweatshirt and baggie jeans, and the other was wearing a
turquoise baseball cap with a zip-up hoodie sweatshirt
