No bail for man charged in fatal July shooting

A Chicago man was ordered held without bail Saturday on charges that he shot and killed another man July 21 for yelling at a group of children who were damaging his car with a BB gun.
Douglas Livingston, 35, of the 8000 block of South Calumet Avenue, shook his head and rocked his body back and forth as Cook County prosecutors detailed the incident in the Englewood neighborhood that left Roshone Eldridge dead and his 43-year-old friend wounded.
Police and prosecutors said Eldridge, 26, of the 5100 block of South Sangamon Street, and the 43-year-old woman told a group of kids to stop shooting a BB gun at his dump truck on the night of July 20.
A short time later, Livingston and a few others angrily approached Eldridge and the woman on the Sangamon block for yelling at the children.
Witnesses told police Livingston said he would "get" Eldridge. About an hour later, around 12:30 a.m. July 21, Livingston returned and fired a semi-automatic pistol at Eldridge and the woman, who were sitting on a porch.
After the incident, Livingston ran across the street and passed a store surveillance camera that captured him leaving the area.
Eldridge, who was shot seven times in his body and face, was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he died from his injuries on July 24. The woman was struck in the forearm, where a bullet is still lodged.
Prosecutors said multiple witnesses identified Livingston as the shooter in a photo line-up, but police could not find him. He was later arrested in Minnesota and brought back to Cook County, where he faces felony charges for first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and aggravated battery for discharging a firearm.
