Four people, including an 11-year-old girl, were shot and wounded late Sunday
when a pair of gunmen opened fire at a family party in the Pill Hill
neighborhood on the city's South Side.
The 10:45 p.m. shooting in the 9100 block of South
Chappel Avenue.
The victims were among a larger crowd of partygoers in a backyard on South
Chappel when two gunmen appeared and opened fire on the group.
The victims included a 16-year-old boy who was wounded in the back and an
18-year-old man struck in the right elbow.
A 51-year-old woman was wounded in the buttocks, while the girl suffered a
graze wound to the left calf.
The girl was taken by a relative to nearby Advocate Trinity Hospital, while
the other three were hospitalized.
