A passenger in a car was killed and another wounded when shots were fired from a
passing car in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side.
The victims' car was in the 2500 block of West Thomas Street when a car
behind it flashed its headlights. The car then swung around and a passenger in the front seat pulled
a handgun and fired several shots.
Miguel Cruz, 28, of the 2500 block of North LeClaire Avenue, was shot in the
chest and taken to Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital, where he was pronounced dead
at 2 a.m..

second man was wounded in the shoulder and taken to St. Mary in good condition
