A driver who ran a red light in the Lawndale neighborhood T-boned another car and
killed its driver about 5:25 a.m. Saturday, police said.
The woman who died was in her 20s, Chicago Police Department News Affairs
Officer Robert Perez said. She was driving northbound on Homan Avenue in a white
Grand Prix and had the right-of-way when the other car, a light gray Monte Carlo
eastbound on Douglas Boulevard, ran the red light and hit her on the driver's
side. She was transported to Saint Anthony Hospital where she was pronounced
dead, Perez said.
The surviving driver took off running after the crash, police said, leaving a
woman in his or her car. Police weren't sure whether the driver of the Monte
Carlo was a man or woman because the surviving passenger and witnesses at the
scene weren't cooperating with police. The surviving passenger was taken to John
H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County.

It was a man driving and the witnesses were the ones to help put the fire out on the car and help to save the other passengers who were trapped in the car
There were several heros out there that night who ran with buckets of water from the houses to try to contain the fire until the fire department arrived. Emmanual Woods and other members of his family along with friends tried effortlessly tried to rescue her from the vehicle but was sadly unsuccessful. The black men in the" hood" are more than what the media potray them to be and that night there were many HEROs in the "hood" so I would like to say THANK YOU for your heroic efforts and that you are Greatly appreciated....When they say noone was cooperating I say thats an outrageous lie!
