Toddler in critical condition after fall- Babies falling like rain in the ghetto

A 2-year-old girl was critically hurt when she fell from a third-story porch in the Lawndale neighborhood this afternoon.
 The girl was playing on a third-floor porch in the 1400 block of South Trumbull Avenue when she somehow fell off and plummeted to the concrete below, according to a police source who was citing preliminary information.
 Her condition is not good.
She is listed in critical condition at Mount Sinai Hospital.
 The incident happened about 4:40 p.m. and the child suffered head injuries.
It was not clear immediately who was with the child, who had been playing with a toy.

A neighbor said that she saw the girl playing in the park at the end of the block and adjacent to the girl's building with other neighborhood children.
Though the woman did not know the girl, the child came up to her and asked for help tying her black tennis shoes, which were on the wrong feet.
