A Chicago police sergeant shot a man wielding a knife at the intersection of
LaSalle and Monroe streets about 1:50 a.m. Saturday.
The man was driving a black Maxima that rear-ended a silver car as they
headed southbound down LaSalle.
The man got out of the car and tried to attack the driver of the other car. A
private security officer stopped to check on the car accident
and the man stabbed her. She was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
The sergeant who responded to the scene told the man to drop the knife and he
didn't. Te man was taken to an area hospital but his condition wasn't
available.
