Chicago police wounded a man late Wednesday night in the West Woodlawn
neighborhood on the city's South Side.
Officers from the Grand Crossing police district were "conducting an
investigation" in the area of the 6600 block of South Langley Avenue at about
9:45 p.m., where a person was shot earlier in the evening.
When the officers tried interviewing a man walking down the street, police
said he pulled a handgun and pointed it at the officers.
One of the officers fired his weapon, hitting the man in the lower back.
No officers were injured in the incident.
