Police issued a community alert this evening warning about a man who broke
into a Pilsen neighborhood apartment and sexually assualted a woman.
The man entered the apartment located on the 1000 block of West 16th Street
about 3:55 a.m. Monday through a 2nd floor balcony. Apparently he cut the screen
with a sharp instrument and entered through a sliding glass door.
The man then entered the bedroom, brandished a blue steel handgun and
sexually assualted a woman.The man threatened to return if the
woman contacted the police.
The man was described by police as black and between the ages of 30 to 40. No
