An Oak Park man died after being hit by a car this morning in the East
Garfield Park neighborhood.
At 7:55 a.m. a 2004 Chevrolet Impala was northbound on Pulaski Road when the
victim ran into the street at Congress Parkway and was struck by the car.
The pedestrian, 33-year-old Alejandro Cruz of the 700 block of Lexington
Street in Oak Park, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced
dead at 9:05 a.m..
Kubiak said the 22-year-old motorist was cited for not having his driver’s
license and insurance information with him
