Eight people were shot near 79th Street and Essex Avenue about 9:15 p.m..
The youngest victim is believed to be 13 years old.
The Chicago Fire Department sent six ambulances to the scene of a shooting
near 79th Street and Essex Avenue.
Five people were taken from the scene to area hospitals but additional
details weren't immediately available.
Chicago Fire Department ambulances took one child in serious-to-critical
condition to Comer Children’s Hospital, one adult in serious-to-critical
condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, one adult in serious-to-critical condition to
John H. Stroger Jr., Hospital of Cook County, and two adults to Advocate Trinity
Hospital in fair-to-serious condition.
