Murder and armed robbery charges have been filed against two men accused of
gunning down and robbing a man sitting in a car with his girlfriend in the
Bronzeville neighborhood early Saturday.
Michael Tucker, 20,
of the 3800 block of Rita Drive in Richton Park, and Kiontae A. Mack, 17, of the
13100 block of South Corliss Avenue, were both charged with murder and armed
robbery in the death of 23-year-old Stephin L. Williams.
Williams was killed about 2:30 a.m.
Saturday in the 4900 block of South Drexel Boulevard, near his home on the
border between Bronzeville and Kenwood, about two blocks west of President
Barack Obama’s Kenwood home.
Williams, of the 4000 block of South Lake
Park Avenue, was sitting in a car eating with his girlfriend when the two men,
one of whom was armed, walked up and announced a robbery.
He tried to fight back but was not successful. He was pronounced
dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital at 3:10 a.m.
