A 22-year-old Chicago man who recently committed to play basketball at a Division
I school died after he was dropped off at a south suburban hospital with gunshot
wounds Thursday afternoon.
Michael Haynes was shot in the 11600 block of South Wentworth Avenue and
dropped off at Metro South Medical Center. He was shot about 5:10 p.m. in the wrist and back.
Haynes was set to play basketball for the 2012-2013 school year in New
Rochelle, N.Y., for the Iona College Gaels

my god when is it going to end. this young man never did anything to anybody. whenever you would see him he would always speak. I am 38 and he had enough respect for me to call me mamm. another black life lost.
I agree this is very sad. they need to call in the national guard and place on every corner the gangs are running the streets and the mayor is playing politics total BS
