At about 2:02 a.m. a 26-year-old man was shot on the 1100 block of South Whipple
Avenue in the Lawndale neighborhood. The man was walking on that block when he began having an argument
with several people on a porch.
The argument led to a shoot out between
the victim and the people on the porch. The victim, who was injured, ran to the
1100 block of South Sacramento Avenue where he collapsed. A hand gun
was recovered near the man's body. Police were looking for two people.
He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with gunshot wounds to his
thigh and groin area
