Two people were shot this morning on the Far South Side including one who is
reportedly in "extremely critical'' condition.
It happened at 10:23 a.m. at 111th Street and Edbrooke Avenue.
One victim was shot in the chest and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center
in Oak Lawn while the other person remained on the scene being treated after
suffering gunshot wounds to both arms.
Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford said one person taken in "extremely
critical'' condition to Christ while the other was in critical condition.
UPDATE:
A 20-year-old man was shot dead and his 19-year-old brother was wounded when
they were fired on while sitting in their car on the Far South Side
today.
The brothers were
sitting in their car parked at the intersection when a dark-colored
sport-utility vehicle pulled alongside and someone from inside began firing.
The 20-year-old was shot in
the chest and rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he
later was pronounced dead.
The man's 19-year-old brother
was shot in both arms and was taken from the scene in critical condition, but
his condition was stabilized at Advocate Christ
