Two students, 14 and 15, are accused of bringing a loaded gun into an elementary
school in the Heart of Italy.
Officers were
called to the Finkl School at 2332 S. Western Ave. Thursday morning after a
student saw a 15-year-old boy hand a gun to a 14-year-old girl and told the
assistant principal. The girl was called into the assistant
principal’s office, where she was asked to open her purse for a security check.
She opened her bag and took out a loaded Smith and Wesson
9mm semi automatic handgun, which she placed in the principal’s desk.
The girl told authorities she was asked by boy to “hold the gun till
after school,’’.
Both were charged with
unlawful use of a weapon
