In all five incidents, the robber approached a clerk and announces a robbery by showing a note saying the
offender is armed with a syringe, knife, or gun, police said. A syringe or knife was displayed in two of the attacks.
The offender flees after taking money from the cash register.
Only one offender enters the business to commit the robbery, but similar descriptions of two possible suspects have been given by victims.
According to the alert, one robber is described as a white man, 25-30 years old, about 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-9 and 150-180 pounds. He sometimes wears black sunglasses.
The other suspect is described as a white woman with long blond hair, 18-25 years old, 5-foot-7 and 130 pounds, police said.
The similar robberies happened at the following times and locations:
--1300 block of W. Fullerton Ave. on May 15 at approximately 5:28 p.m.
--1100 block of W. Webster Ave. on May 17 at approximately 4:50 p.m.
--2000 block of N. Clybourn Ave. on May 20 at approximately 11:00 a.m.
--1200 block of W. Fullerton Ave. on May 21 at approximately 9:15 a.m.
--900 block of W. Webster Ave. on May 22 at approximately 10:09 a.m.
