14-year-old boy was shot and killed in the Brighton Park neighborhood
A 14-year-old boy was shot and killed Friday night.
The boy was shot in the back just before 9 p.m. in the 2600 block of West
37th Place in the Brighton
Park neighborhood, police said.
The boy, identified by the Cook County medical examiner's office as Jamie Alejandro
, of the 2900 block of West Pershing Road, was pronounced dead before 10
p.m. at Mount Sinai Hospital.

This was my daughter's friend since the 6 th. grade and when she heard the bad news she broke into tears. He was just a child and my deepest condolences goes out to his family.

The kid was riding his bike, before curfew, just a few blocks from his home. I know the area, kid was not a banger...grown up, latin kings, have been spotted in the area, jumping out on kids due to an increase in retaliatory incidents. The cops should station themselves on 38th and kedzie and cal, but use unmarked, unidentifiable cars. Action goes on, all night
Correction on above assumption...kid was caught in the middle of two gangs, during crossfire according to nieghbors/unidentifiable/witnesses. He road his bike right into the conflict. Poor baby.
No he did not ride into.a gang fight the car of gang bangers hit him.on.his bike first my newphew was with.him and was attacked also he was on his way home. Gang bangers target anyone they see its pathedic and police do nothing to stop this he was a sweet boy close to my family and will be missed.
