Chicago police arrested a gunman who they saw fatally shoot a 58-year-old man on the street on the city's South Side.
Patrolling Gresham District officers heard gunshots, then spotted the shooter open fire on the victim just before 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of East 87th Place.
A source said the officers saw the gunman fire several shots into the victim's head. The victim, whose identity wasn't immediately released, was dead at the scene.
The officers chased down the 30-year-old suspect and took him into custody
