A 20-year-old man who was hospitalized after being found apparently having a seizure in the
Beverly neighborhood died Saturday and was later found to have a bullet in his
head, police said.
Police are investigating after Brian Jones of the 3800 block of West Cermak
Road was pronounced dead at 5:35 p.m. at Advocate Christ Medical Center.
On Friday, Chicago
Fire Department paramedics were called to an alley on the 9000 Block of
South Western Avenue for a "person down" at the location.
Initially, crews believed that Jones had suffered a seizure and took him to
the hospital for treatment.
On Saturday, after the man was pronounced dead at 5:35 p.m. officials from
the Cook County medical examiner's office informed police that the man was found
to have a bullet in his head.
An autopsy conducted today determined that Jones died as a result of the
shooting and his death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner's.
